Kimmich is a German professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Bayern Munich and the Germany national team. Born on January 16, 1992, he began his career at the age of eight playing for his hometown club Eintracht Braunschweig before moving to the German top flight in 2010.

In 2015, Kimmich signed for Bundesliga side Schalke 04 where he made his debut in the Bundesliga. After a successful season with Schalke, he joined Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg in 2017.
