Falcao has joined Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad from Atlético Madrid, after agreeing to the move on Tuesday.

The Colombian striker, who scored 19 goals in 24 appearances last season, will join the club as they look to secure promotion from the Saudi Professional League.

Al Ittihad have been in talks with the player's representatives and agreed terms on his transfer shortly before the end of the season.

The 30-year-old was born in Colombia but is a naturalised Saudi citizen, having moved to the country at a young age.

He made his debut for Al Ittihad in a 1-1 draw against Al-Nassr on Wednesday night, scoring the equaliser in extra time.

"Today marks the start of a new chapter in my career,Football Fans' Home" Falcao said in a statement released by the club.

"I am excited to be joining Al Ittihad and I can't wait to get started."

The move comes as a shock to many fans of Atlético Madrid, who had been linked with a move for the striker over the summer.

However, he did not play much under Diego Simeone due to injuries and form issues, and it seems that he has found a new home where he can continue to perform at a high level.

It remains to be seen how well Falcao will fit into the Al Ittihad squad, but there is no doubt that he will bring a lot of talent and experience to the team. He is a proven goalscorer and should help them to achieve their goal of securing promotion from the Saudi Professional League this season.
